What is Harvest?
At Clavering Hill, Harvest marks the final step in a long journey of care, respect, and purpose. Our animals are raised slowly on pasture, grazing regeneratively managed paddocks and living calm, natural lives in a low-stress environment.
-
When the time comes, each animal is transported with care to the closest abattoir or market. Because cattle are herd animals and feel stress when isolated, we always aim to send at least two together. This ensures they travel calmly, with a familiar companion, and are handled gently and respectfully throughout the process.
-
From the abattoir, the carcass goes to our skilled local butcher, who dry-ages, cuts, and prepares the beef with care and precision. The packaged cuts are then returned to the farm, where we hand-pack each box and prepare it for delivery for you.
-
It's a closed-loop system that reflects our values ~ from our paddocks → to the abattoir → to the butcher → back to the farm→ and finally, to your kitchen.
Every step is intentional. Every decision is made with the welfare of the animal, the health of the land and the quality of your food in mind.
